What We Believe

Transformed People; transformed families; transformed community.

To transform our congregation, our Community, and communities worldwide from the inside out through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Statment of Faith

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority for faith and life. (Biblical Reference: Psalm 19:7-14; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; John 16:12-13; 17:17; 1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe in one God, eternally existing as three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Biblical Reference: Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 45:21-22; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 3:17; 28:19; Romans 14:17-18; 15:16; 1 Corinthians 2:2-5; 6:11; 12:4-6; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 13:14; Ephesians 2:18; 3:16-17; 4:4-6; Colossians 1:6-8; 1 Thessalonians 1:3-5; 2 Thessalonians 2:13)

We believe in Jesus Christ, begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, to be true God and true man, and the only Mediator between God and man. (Biblical Reference: Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; Luke 2:1-7; John 1:1-14; Galatians 4:4-8; 1 Timothy 2:5)

We believe in the vicarious death of the Lord Jesus Christ as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (Biblical Reference: 1 Peter 1:18-21; 2:24; Acts 16:30-31; Ephesians 1:3-14; I John 1:7; Ephesians 2:4-9; Revelation 1:5)

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life, there for us as High Priest and Advocate. (Biblical Reference: Psalm 16:10; Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20:21; Acts 2:22-36; 1 Corinthians 15:1-9; Acts 1:10-11; Hebrews 5:1-10; 7:23-28; 1 John 2:1)

We believe in the personal and visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth to establish His Kingdom. (Biblical Reference:Isaiah 24:22-23; Zechariah 14:3-8; Acts 1:10-11; Jude 14-15; Revelation 20)

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, co–equal with the Father and Son, and that He was active in creation, convicts the world of sin, reveals Christ and baptizes all believers into the body of Christ at conversion, and that thereafter He indwells, regenerates, empowers and gifts all believers. We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit were given primarily to the early church for the purpose of authenticating its ministry. (Biblical Reference: Acts 5:1-4; Psalm 139:7-10; John 14:16-17, 26; 16:13; Ephesians 4:30; Matthew 28;19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 3:5-10; Genesis 1:2; 1 Corinthians 12:1-13; 13:8-11)

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Biblical Reference: Genesis 1:27,31; 2:7; 2:16-17; 3:1-13; I Corinthians 15:21-22; Romans 6:23)

We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God, wholly apart from any human merit, works, or foreseen faith. All such are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and baptized by Him into that spiritual body (the Church) of which Christ is the head. (Biblical Reference: John 3:3-7; 1:12-13; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 2:8-9; Colossians 1:15-23)

We believe that all who are truly born again will be kept by Christ and will persevere in faith unto the day of redemption. (Biblical Reference:John 3:16-18, 36; 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39; 2 Timothy 1:12-13; Jude 1)

We believe in the physical resurrection of the saved and unsaved; the saved to life eternal, the unsaved to eternal judgement and separation from God in the lake of fire. (Biblical Reference: John 5:29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15; Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:11-15)

We believe that Scripture defines marriage as the union of one man to one woman for life. As such, sexual intimacy is only acceptable and legitimate within the bonds of marriage. (Biblical Reference: Genesis 2:24; I Corinthians 7:2-4)

The Church
We believe that a local New Testament Church consists of a company of baptized believers, who have voluntarily associated themselves for Worship, for Ministry, for Evangelism, for Fellowship and for Discipleship. (Biblical Reference: Acts 2:41-47; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:2)

We believe that a local New Testament Church is a self–governing body, and free from interference by ecclesiastical or political authority. (Biblical Reference: Acts 6:3-6; 4:19-20; 5:29; 14:23; 15:2; 15:22-31; 20:28-35)

We believe in “that blessed hope,” which refers to the Rapture of the Church. (Biblical Reference: Titus 2:11-13; John 14; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, setting forth the essential facts of redemption – the death, burial and resurrection of Christ: and also the essential facts in the experience of the believer – death to sin and resurrection to newness of life; and that the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until He comes. (Biblical Reference: Acts 8:36; Romans 6:3-6; Matthew 26:26-30; Luke 22:15-20; 1 Corinthians 10:16; 11:20-34)
